Week 5!

Week 5! We finished up our unit 1 inquiry, How we organize ourselves, and also went to Disneyland!

Inquiry (Social Studies, Science): The big talk of the week was Disneyland, but we did get to finish our inquiry projects. In this unit, students looked around the school for ways to improve their school by creating systems. Their final projects were very creative and will be helpful for the school.

Language Arts: We took a break from poetry and refreshed our grammar skills with practice tests and grammar exercises. The students are learning that test-taking is a skill that needs to be learned.

Math: This week we went on to fractions and decimals. The students learned how to convert them and also how to graph them. Although the concept was difficult at first, once they caught that they were using fractions and decimals in their G3 Universe projects and everyday life, they picked up the concepts quickly.

Next next week: We will start our new inquiry. We were already able to watch the lifecycle of a baby frog to tune in to our next inquiry Sharing the planet! See the photo of our cool frogs below!

Have a fantastic weekend,

Mr. Soong
