This week we had our individual meetings to go over the students Cambridge results. We also started the second part of our inquiry and tuned in and brainstormed ideas for our fundraiser during the last week of school!
Inquiry (Social Studies, Science): The students discussed different areas of the world that lack sufficient energy. They then came up with a list of possible countries to donate to. We also worked in groups to discuss the various ways to raise the funds and awareness of the shortage of resources in different parts of the world.
Language Arts: This week we had individual meetings to go over the examinations. They learned to the skill of reading the questions carefully and checking their work. They all did a great job in the writing section. We will continue addressing our writing skills until the end of the year. We also wrote a persuasive essay and speech competition!
Math: As in LA, we held individual meetings to go over the student's math skills. As this was their first examination of this type, they learned that the skill of test-taking is very important. Most of the students were able to answer all the questions when properly explained to them. It was a great learning process for them! We celebrated the end of the Cambridge exams with a Quizlet class battle!
Next week: We will finish up our inquiry projects and get ready for the fundraiser next week!
Have a fantastic weekend,
